Best Worst Movie

After spending a week at SILVERDOCS in D.C., I’m back in L.A. and I’d like to thank the SILVERDOCS team for making our festival experience memorable, hugely successful and truly moving. Both BEST WORST MOVIE screenings were sold-out and overflowing with smiling, appreciative, fun crowds (and platters of bologna sandwiches). By popular demand, SILVERDOCS even added an extra BWM screening and                            BEST WORST MOVIE was awarded the Audience Award Honorable Mention.

Each film festival has it’s own personality and SILVERDOCS is one that radiates warmth, soul, character, zero-pretension, true passion, creativity and… hospitality. I’m a believer that the best way to become great at something is to do what you love. It’s no surprise that under the direction of Sky Sitney, SILVERDOCS had it’s BEST YEAR EVER and they and made it look like easy. Many film festivals are a bit frantic and filled with a sense of frenzy, yet last week SILVERDOCS maintained a cool, calm, collected spirit, genuinely enthusiastic and eager to help ensure that the festival exceeded filmmakers expectations.

Yes, it’s a festival bursting with exciting, creative, diverse programming and smart, supportive audiences but most importantly SILVERDOCS is sincere and very filmmaker-friendly. Apart from it being an honor to showcase BEST WORST MOVIE in the country’s most prestigious doc film fest, alongside the best documentaries in the world, SILVERDOCS is run by great folks who don’t piss on hospitality!

Congrats and thanks to Sky Sitney, Adrian Spencer, Jody Arlington, Mia Walker & the rest of the smiling SILVERDOCS team. We owe our success at SILVERDOCS to you and your power of goodness. You kick goblin ass.
